London Relay

4,000 miles. 3,800 runners. One world record. A city connected.

In 2018, we founded the London Relay. A Guinness record-setting running relay that united a city, creating a radically inclusive community that transcended all London postcodes.

This month-long, non-stop relay took place for two years, raising over £80,000 to help young homeless people get off the streets and away from gang life.

The London Relay’s hub was located at Potters Field Park, next to the iconic Tower Bridge, and our 10km route along the Thames took in many of the city’s most beautiful sights.

“Running with a group of total strangers. Every single part of London’s fantastic diversity was there, all running for their own reasons but collectively for the same causes and having such a good time whilst doing it.”

In my time at Laureus, the London Relay is the event that has gained the most traction and excitement amongst Talent and staff.
