Running Out of Time

An extraordinary 7,000km non-stop relay from Glasgow (COP 26 host) to Sharm el-Sheikh (COP 27 host) carrying a climate change message from the leaders of tomorrow to the leaders of today.

Running Out of Time is an extraordinary 7 000 km non-stop relay from Glasgow (COP 26 host) to Sharm el-Sheikh (COP 27 host) via 18 different countries. Launching 1st October 2022, it aims to bring together over 1,000,000 young people to deliver a message on climate change from the leaders of tomorrow to the leaders of today.

From the opening ceremony in Glasgow – where the message will be sealed in the baton - the relay will go through 18 countries - UK (Scotland, Wales, England), France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania, Greece, Turkey, Cyprus, Israel, Jordan, Egypt - to Sharm el-Sheikh. Along the route, the baton will cross seas, mountain ranges, glaciers, and deserts ; it will visit schools, at risk locations and climate change projects ; it will be carried by runners, cyclists and sailors. Gathering support every kilometre of the way it will arrive with the backing of more than a million young voices.

A message in a baton from the leaders of tomorrow to the leaders of today. A message that cannot be ignored because we are running out of time.
